Hi, I'm Elizabeth, a pharmacist turned therapist and an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist working with healthcare professionals and other high achieving and driven adults who have spent most of their lives being the capable one.
Many of the people I sit with grew up learning to work hard, make their families proud, keep it together, and never waste an opportunity. We were taught how to survive, achieve, and take care of everyone else, but not always how to slow down, set boundaries, tend to our own needs, or figure out who we are beyond what we accomplish.
Whether you are navigating anxiety, burnout, relationships, or a transition into a new chapter, being bicultural or carrying a family legacy can add another layer. Questions of identity, expectation, loyalty, and what it means to choose a life of your own can sit underneath everything else, even when things look fine from the outside.
In sessions, we can slow down and look honestly at what is going on. Together, we will:
Create a space where nothing has to be managed or performed
Understand the patterns underneath the pressure and where they came from
Name what you actually want, not only what has been expected of you
Identify and utilize tools that help you move toward it
After more than two decades in healthcare tech, payer, and provider organizations, I know these pressures from the inside. The responsibility, the perfectionism, the long hours, the expectation to keep performing and caring for others even when you are depleted, all while keeping up a certain image. I also know how those pressures follow you home and show up in your body, your relationships, and the people closest to you.
My earlier work in substance use shaped my understanding of how many different ways people find to cope with trauma and life's challenges. Very little of what you bring will surprise me.
Perhaps this is a moment to pause, take a closer look, and make space for what may be possible from here. You do not need a crisis to begin, and you do not need to arrive with it all sorted out. I would be glad to work alongside you as you explore what comes next.
Elizabeth’s Approach
My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded. I want the therapy hour to be a place where you can set down the version of yourself that always has it handled.
Some of our work will be reflective, slowing down enough to notice what is happening and where it began. Some of it will be practical, building tools and language you can use in the moments that actually feel hard.
I do not think of therapy as something done to you. We decide together what matters, we look at whether it is working, and we adjust as we go.
