Tell us what's going on. We'll take it from there.
You don't have to know what kind of therapy you need, or who to ask for. Write a few sentences about what's been hard. A person reads it, and you hear back within one business day.

Most people who write to us have been carrying something for a while before they do. You don't need the right words. Tell us what's going on in your own, and we'll match you with someone who is good at exactly that.Lisa Chen, LMFTFounder, Lisa Chen & Associates Therapy

Before you write
A few things people ask before they reach out. If yours isn't here, put it in the form; it's exactly what the first reply is for.
How do you decide which therapist to recommend?
We read your note and match you on three things: what you're dealing with, the style of therapist you'd work well with, and when you can meet. You can ask for someone by name, or ask for a Spanish speaker, someone who does EMDR, or someone in Pasadena. If the first match doesn't feel right on the call, say so and we'll suggest another.
How quickly will I hear back?
Within one business day, by email or text, whichever you gave us. The reply includes a recommended therapist, a sentence on why, and two or three times for a free 20-minute call. If you write on a Saturday, you'll hear from us Sunday or Monday.
Can I request Lisa Chen specifically?
Yes. Say so in the form. Lisa's caseload is limited and she prioritizes executives, high achievers, couples and intensives. If she can't take you on soon, she'll recommend the therapist in the group she thinks is the best fit, and she supervises the associates directly.
Is it a problem if I'm not sure I need therapy?
No. Plenty of people write to us before they've decided anything. The free 20-minute call is for exactly that question. If therapy isn't the right next step, we'll tell you, and we'll point you to something that is.
What if only one of us is ready for couples therapy?
Write anyway and tell us. We only start couples therapy when both partners have agreed to come, but if your partner isn't there yet, we can often start with you individually, and we'll talk through how to bring the question up at home.
Do you take insurance?
We're out of network with all insurance plans. Sessions are $180 to $500 depending on your therapist, and we provide superbills through the client portal so you can submit for reimbursement. Many employers' PPO plans reimburse a portion of the fee, so it's worth a call to your plan.
If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or call 911. This form isn't monitored around the clock.
